This blog post with Kayla and Jon’s Lionscrest Manor wedding photos originally posted 1/2/14, but through years of growth and change it was a bit lost in the archives, and the photos were no longer displaying. Today I’m bringing it back because these two and their wedding was one to remember over the years. Betsy and Matt had so much joy in their engagement photos and then had it all over again at the wedding. Even five years later, I can remember laughing with them and how much they smiled together!
Kayla and Jon have been working with me for a very long time, so their wedding last August felt like a very long time coming! Between Jon’s serving in the marines back in North Carolina and Kayla planning a wedding here things got a little crazy for awhile, but everything came together perfectly for their Lionscrest Manor wedding.
Of course, if you know me at all, you know I was drooling all over the vintage keys, burlap, lace, and light colors for this wedding. Can we mention the venue? Lionscrest Manor has a backdrop that is gorgeous! They were also super organized and friendly, so I recommend them to any bride looking for a great venue. One of my favorite parts about the venue was the space they had. Often we’re cramped into teeny rooms for preparations, and at Lionscrest Manor you can spread out and the rooms they have to get ready in can fit many people and offer a lot of good privacy as well. The bride’s suite is simply gorgeous and was my favorite “getting ready” place of the year. I really can’t wait to shoot here again in 2014 for more fantastic couples!
Kayla and Jon have this sweet love that I just admire. It’s the kind of love I wish for everyone, and it’s so easily seen in their photos. Their expressive love made for lots of lovely photo moments. I love the photo of Kayla’s dad seeing her in her dress for the first time. I love the way Kayla and Jon looked at each other during the ceremony. And whew the romance while they were dancing!!
My all-time favorite was the Cinderella photo awesomesauce that happened at the fountain in front of the manor!
I know Kayla and Jon are all the way across the US again, but I wish them well and hope that if they’re out here again, they’ll let me take photos of all the adorable babies they’re going to have. 😉
