I’ve been waiting to post these Rocky Mountain National Park elopement photos for awhile. Kayla and Andrej eloped awhile back, and I didn’t want to share right away and spoil the surprise for their friends and family. These two were amazing to work with. Kayla showed up in a gorgeous wedding dress. Her dress is the dress I wish I wore at my wedding. The sleeves, skirt, and buttons down the back were perfection. Then the dogs. If you know me, then you know my husband, and I have four dogs and love the dang things.
One thing we learned at the national park is that while a permit allows you to get married there, it doesn’t allow your dogs to be on the trails. We did have a chat with a ranger, who was so kind and understanding of the mistake and we moved on with elopement photos and celebrations nearby in Grand Lake.
I’d like to share these photos with a trigger warning because looking back at them now scares the crap out of me with the heights. Gorgeous heights at the falls, but their good friend, and officiant standing on the edge of that rock stops me in my tracks every time. Don’t worry, we all made it out alive.
My favorite highlight is when the rings were forgotten back at the hotel, so Andrej made some makeshift ones out of twigs hanging around the forest. They turned out pretty awesome, and it would be fantastic if there were a way to save and keep them in just the form he twisted them on the spot. Now that’s a pretty handy spouse!
Congrats to these two and so grateful I get to do a job that takes me to the mountains, hiking, exploring, hanging out with cool people and their dogs.
