One of my favorite things to do with engagement sessions is to meet my clients somewhere away from their home, take them out for a yummy dinner (although sometimes people take me) and then do photos close to sunset. While Ashley and Kamil did their Glenwood Springs engagement photos awhile ago, I was a lazy blogger and am still catching up on all the amazing sessions and weddings I’ve photographed in the last year and a half. That doesn’t make this evening any less memorable though. We met up in Glenwood Springs, had pre-dinner drinks, and then walked over to my favorite taco place in the world, Slope and Hatch.
A little shoutout to Slope and Hatch, they are rated #9 on a list of best taco places in the entire United States. I agree they have some of my favorite tacos of all time. Every time I have to drive from my Western side of the state to Denver or anywhere else along I-70, I make it a point to stop and have tacos. They are the reason I still shoot weddings in Denver – because I get to have Slope and Hatch tacos! Anyway, we met for tacos, did some shoots closer to Carbondale to get that lovely mountain in the background, and then came back and hung out at their hotel over more drinks and late night chats. These are my favorite kinds of people to work with. Ashley and Kamil brought me into their lives and are still in touch now. They made me feel like one of their long time friends, and they’re madly in love. Plus, you can’t mess with those Crocs for engagement photos, am I right? The Star Wars nerd in me is 100% behind the Chewy crocs.
More on these two, their story and their wedding coming up on the blog soon. For now, enjoy the Chewbacca crocs, mountains, and Goonies.
