Allison and Stephen celebrated their wedding at the Willowbrook Amphitheater in Morrison last year. This is one of my favorite venues of all time. I’ve photographed all over the world, but this place just has that special kind of light and vibe that makes it truly unique and memorable. The only catch is that the local neighborhood association owns it, so you have to know someone who lives there or live there yourself to get in!
Lucky for me I was able to photograph this wedding with some of my favorite vendors and be part of the entire day. Allison and Stephen are one of those couples that has expressive love, my favorite kind of people to photograph. They don’t hold back on their emotions and their day was intended to not be about decor or how the wedding looked from the outside, but it was all about how it felt on the inside instead. And it felt full of love, kindness, fun, and meaning. It had a very intimate feel to it despite the number of guests. I think that intimacy is possible even with an extensive guest list if you’re the kind of people who hold your friends and family very close.
Some of my favorite moments were Stephen’s response to Allison coming down the aisle, the speeches, and of course dancing under those lights in such a neat little cave with great natural light. I think I’m about to make cave weddings a thing now! So here’s to a belated congratulations to these two with a blog post, but I’m so glad I got to finally share these photos because there are some great gems in here that I love!
