Ever since moving to the Western Slope I’ve been looking for a few really great spots for engagement photos, elopements or just portrait shoots with families. When Sabrina and Greg suggested we head up to one of their favorite spots, the Grand Mesa, in the Fall, I was pretty pumped. The Western Slope of Colorado doesn’t have a whole lot of leafy, traditional mountain landscapes, but the Grand Mesa is one of the few (at least until you head further East). What’s unique about the Grand Mesa is that it’s just a big forest-filled, mountain area that’s on a mesa – so, it’s very flat. It makes for an easy spot to meet and shoot and during the Fall you have tons of gorgeous yellow Aspen trees. Loved looking back at this engagement session and remembering all the fun shooting spots up there. I’m excited to get some clients in the area in 2019 too!
