This blog post with Chelsea and Justin’s Denver courthouse elopement photos was originally posted 7/31/14, but through years of growth and change it was a bit lost in the archives, and the photos were no longer displaying. Today I’m bringing it back!
So if you remember my long story about how awesome Chelsea and Justin are, then you would know just how DANG excited I was to photograph their Denver courthouse elopement on July 14th this year! Although they tied the knot pretty intimately they are still planning on having a big celebration in only a couple weeks with tons of their family and friends. I’m pretty sure that will be an equally awesome event to photograph as well. I’m a pretty lucky photographer.
We met at the courthouse at 2pm for the ceremony and it was pretty awesome to have Justin’s friend as their judge. I loved his bowtie. Any person in a bow tie is always considered “cool status” in my eyes. The ceremony was short and we all cried. How could you not? After that Chelsea and Justin took off in a short pedicab ride through Denver to meet us at a different courthouse, you know the one with all the fun pillars. The only problem is they wouldn’t let us photograph there, so we quickly jumped into my car and spur of the moment went to the Cheeseman Park Pavilion for a similar look (possibly even better in my eyes). I love photographing there.
After photo time was done we wanted to head back to downtown Denver and have a drink or two at Coohills. If you didn’t check out the last post about where they met and how Justin proposed, you can see all the details there about why Coohills is important, we even snapped a few engagement photos there, so it was fun to take a few photos of them having drinks where they had their first date and where he proposed. I can’t wait for their backyard reception with friends and family in a couple weeks. I know it’s just going to be awesome!
