This blog post with Leah and Kalvin’s Meadow Creek Bed and Breakfast wedding photos originally posted 1/9/14, but through years of growth and change it was a bit lost in the archives, and the photos were no longer displaying with the actual blog post story. Today I’m bringing these photos back because this session was pretty awesome.
Sometimes I wish it were still the 90s because then if I described Leah and Kalvin’s wedding by saying it was “the bomb!” nobody would think I was a nutter. Their wedding really was just really, really, really super cool. They had a Meadow Creek Bed and Breakfast wedding and I’ve had the pleasure to photograph up there a few times this year. It’s such a gorgeous property and perfect for couples who want a rustic mountain setting that’s small, quiet and very intimate.
The property has individual cabins to get ready in as well as little old barns and an awesome old shack that’s perfect for taking wedding photos that aren’t traditional (yay!). Leah and Kalvin found me by checking out all the listings on the Denver A List, where in 2012 I was one of the top ten photographers in Denver and 3rd out of hundreds in 2013! I still can’t believe they looked through so many photographers and came to find me, but I’m so glad they did!
By far, the most fantastic thing they did at their wedding was chose to marry themselves. There was no officiant of any type. They walked up the aisle and had an incredibly intimate ceremony where they spoke, told stories, and just married themselves. It was seriously SO COOL and just felt like them, if that makes any sense at all. The only other live beings involved in the ceremony (aside from the captive family and friends in the audience) were the dogs. Anyone who incorporates their beloved pets into their wedding seriously steals my heart.
In the photos below you’ll also be able to see all of Leah’s hard DIY work she put into the wedding collecting up eclectic vintage items and making her decorations herself. Everything looked amazing!
