This blog post with Mayana and Alex’s Lionscrest Manor wedding photos originally posted 5/31/14, but through years of growth and change it was a bit lost in the archives, and the photos were no longer displaying with the actual blog post story. Today I’m bringing these photos back!
I love my job and anytime I get to shoot Lionscrest Manor wedding photos it’s always extra special. This is one of my favorite venues because they are always super organized, everything is clean and the staff is always amazing to work with. Everyone knows their routine there so they are able to throw a wedding with little to no problems. Thanks to their awesome customer care at Mayana and Alex’s wedding last Sunday on May 25th the wedding went off without a hitch despite crazy windy thunderstorms that moved in right before the ceremony started.
Mayana and Alex are a pretty awesome couple. Their wedding was the first time I had to photograph them and even without engagement photo session practice they were absolutely in love and adorable together for their photos, they made my job pretty effortless! When I arrived at the wedding we did all the detail shots, the wedding dress and more. I love bringing my new ring shot kit to weddings to whip out some awesome glitter paper to match my couple’s wedding day colors for these macros.
During the preparation process I also got to meet Alex’s sister, Chantelle, who is an awesome make-up artist and super cool to boost! I friended her on Facebook after I found out she made her own dress for the wedding, corset and all. It was lime green on the outside and hot pink on the inside, plus she had the hair, tattoos and color-coordinating nails to match. I love meeting amazing people at weddings!
Even though the rain and thunderstorms came through we moved the ceremony inside and it was still just as beautiful. I loved the look on Alex’s face when Mayana walked down the aisle. One of my favorite moments of the day was when the ceremony finished and Mayana and Alex were going back up the aisle and Alex turns to his mom and puts his hand on her shoulder, while holding Mayana’s. The relationship between Alex and his awesome mom (who had a gorgeous purple lace dress that I adored) was just so sweet. I love it when a groom loves his mom. They also both cried during their mother/son dance too. Sorry to embarrass you Alex, but it was too sweet not to mention.
Mayana’s dress was also gorgeous. It’s the one I really wanted for my wedding, but couldn’t have. She probably pulls it off way better than I could have anyway. The back is my favorite part as well as the lace and shorter train. Mayana looked absolutely stunning and I was also a big fan of her hair with all the small little braids. Since these two are big travelers Mayana also planned their wedding with a bit of a travel theme, they had a globe as their guestbook, little knick knacks from their travels, atlases and that knid of fun stuff. It was so pretty!
Everything at this wedding was amazing and the love between Alex and Mayana and their families was intense and special. I enjoyed every moment of the day and can’t wait to see what the future holds for this world-traveling amazing couple! I know they’re having a fantastic time in Costa Rica for their honeymoon as I write this post!
