Shari and Jake’s Studios at Overland Crossing wedding photos from last September was one for the books and I was so pumped for their wedding day. I consider myself lucky that all my couples are amazing and kind people, and Shari and Jake are definitely that, plus they’re fun to boot! Jake is the brother of a previous bride so I like to think I’m the family photographer now.
We started out the day with their church ceremony and followed that up with photos of Shari and Jake as well as their wedding party at Hatfield just south of the church. We had great fall trees and gorgeous light, plus Shari’s shoes are amazing – right?!
You could not ask for a more fun couple because their reception was crazy awesome!! As soon as they arrived they greeted all their guests and the night was started. Probably my favorite part of the night was the “crazy hour” at the end of the night with tons of props, balloons, masks, and all manner of things for a full hour of dancing with everyone on the floor. This is a Venezuelan tradition from Shari’s family and it was the BEST!
Some of my favorite things of the day were Shari’s dress, the side slit was amazing and she was gorgeous in it! I also loved her red, sparkly shoes, and just photographing her and Jake in general. They are such an easy couple to photograph! Shari’s sister was also an amazing help all night, not just to me, but with everything. I also loved the quiet moment Shari had with her grandma at the reception and the headpiece she wore for crazy hour. SO MUCH FUN!
This blog post with Shari and Jake’s wedding photos was originally posted 11/26/14, but through years of growth and change it was a bit lost in the archives, and the photos were no longer displaying with the actual blog post story. Today I’m bringing these photos back!
